Alvin & The Chipmunks Halloween Collection is a feature-length anthology film, made up of some of the best spooky episodes of the animated series. It is the perfect film to watch with young children during the Halloween season and will have you singing along with Alvin and the gang to some wicked Halloween hits!

In Trick or Treason, Alvin, voiced by Ross Bagdasarian (Cartoon All-Stars To The Rescue and Rockin' Through The Decades decides), decides to ignore his brothers' warnings and attempts to join a local gang called The Monster Club, because they have cool jackets. Despite his better judgement, Simon, also voiced by Ross Bagdasarian, helps him devise a scare machine, to help Alvin with his initiation into the gang.

Meanwhile, Theodore, voiced by Janice Karman, makes friends with a local boy named Michael, who is very nice and spends the majority of his time nursing sick and injured animals. But despite all this, Michael is bullied horrendously and called "pumpkin head" due to being born with red hair and a very noticeable facial deformity over his right eye.

Eventually, Alvin is peer pressured into helping the members of the gang to pull a horrible prank on Michael and he finds himself having to make one of the biggest choices of his life!

This is a story which teaches its audience about not judging a book by its cover, as well as the dangers of peer pressure and joining a gang and that bullying is a horribly mean thing to do and no one should be on the receiving end of it.

Following on with the theme of not judging someone based on their appearance is Babysitter Fright Night in which Alvin, Simon & Theodore are left alone for the night with a very strict, German babysitter named Helga. Helga makes them do all their chores, eat food they don't like and sends them to bed early when they want to stay up late watching television.

Later, they sneak out to watch some television and see part of a show in which there is a villainous babysitter and soon their imagination gets the better of them and they devise a plan to catch her. Unfortunately, in the process, they hurt Helga's feeling and make her think she failed at her job and the boys realise they have a big lesson to learn.

Then in Theodore's Life As A Dog, after watching a spooky werewolf movie, Simon decides to play a joke on Alvin, to teach him a lesson after he lies to their little brother Theodore and tricks him into eating dog biscuits. They tell Alvin that because it was a full moon that his little brother will be turned into a dog and they switch him for the neighbour's dog whilst Alvin isn't looking.

This causes absolute chaos for Alvin, as the dog gets picked up by a dog catcher and he runs off in the middle of the night to rescue him. This story teaches a very important lesson that lying is not good to do and will only get you in more and more trouble!

Continuing with the theme of lying bringing you nothing but trouble, comes Nightmare On Seville Street in which Alvin convinces his brothers to sneak out of the movie they were supposed to see: "Fuzzy Bunny" and into a very inappropriate horror movie called: "Hideous Harold XI" and needless to say, it scares the daylights out of them.

That night there is a massive, scary storm and the boys' imagination gets the better of them and it leads to all kinds of shenanigans, which get them into a lot of trouble with their adoptive father.

Lastly, is the story Once Upon A Crime, in which Alvin again convinces his brothers into wrongdoing by stealing a toy from their friend Beatrice Miller, voiced by the late Dody Goodman (The Tonight Show and Punky Brewster) and their adoptive father Dave, voiced by Ross Bagdasarian comes up with a clever plan to get them to confess.

This story is filled with a series of wonderful stories, with creative costumes, which are imagined by the boys, as well as teaching the important lesson that stealing is wrong.

This is a great musical film for the whole family to enjoy, filled with life lessons, spooky (but not scary) stories and features familiar and nostalgic characters that most people either love or love to hate.
