Alpaca Magic Open Day
Do you love llamas? Or think alpacas are adorable? If your answer is a huge 'hell yeah!', here's some big news for you: there's a magical experience just outside of Canberra where you can get up close and personal with both (and some dreamy donkeys too!) Twice a year, in spring and autumn, the Alpaca Magic Open Day (a totally free event) is guaranteed to make you smile, provide awesome photo opportunities and get you out into the fresh country air.
Running from 11am-3pm, this is your chance to wander around a working farm & ask any of your burning alpaca or llama questions. The alpacas and llamas (and their babies!) will be roaming and you can get up (very) close with them, share cuddles, smooches, feed them carrots, and take lots of selfies!

As well as the alpacas, there will be donkey tour guides showing off the farm's gorgeous donkeys. A word of advice: donkeys do struggle to tell the difference between carrots & fingers so with these little guys it's best to look but don't feed.
The farm will have wool spinning demonstrations, a stall selling not only bags of carrots, but llama pens, llama key rings, llama plush toys, alpaca magic badges and felted llama fridge magnets. And if you want to make a day of it, you're free to bring a picnic basket and stretch out in the garden or buy a sausage sandwich or some baked goodies from the Lions Club of Brindabella who will be running a barbecue (this is cash only so put a few coins in your pocket to avoid lunch envy).

Parking is available on the property - just be patient as it gets pretty busy on the bumpy driveway. And in true Canberra style, it can get either very hot or very cold and windy at the farm so check the forecast to make sure you're prepared and enjoy the day with your new four-legged friends!
