Time sure does fly! One of our favourite doggy places in Brisbane, Aloha Hound, is celebrating its first birthday! Yes, that's right - the most tropical doggie spa and retreat in Brisbane, Aloha Hound is turning the big one, after 12 successful months of making dogs look and feel their very best. But hold up - this is no ordinary birthday celebration. It serves a double purpose as a fundraiser for Queensland Staffy & Amstaff Rescue, an organisation who rescues Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers and their crosses. They provide foster care, education, training support, and help facilitate adoption into safe and loving homes. Come along and join an event where you can pawty like there's no tomorrow, while making a difference to dogs in need.
The event will be held on Saturday 18th November 2017 at Aloha Hound, an easy 30 minute drive south from Brisbane's CBD. The pawty kicks off at 9:30am, and keeps going till 12:30pm. That's three whole hours worth of fun, fun, and more fun! This, of course, involves food, lots and lots of food... because dog pawty is complete without yummy and organic nibbles. Don't worry, all treats were carefully. selected by Aloha Hound, meaning that they're all healthy treats... but don't tell the dogs that! A wide array of free pawty snacks will be provided, including:
suburban pup - taste test their newest smooth banana pawridge!
L'Barkery - Choose from a Paw Blonde, Puppicino, Mochacino, and much more!
In addition to many free treats, you can also purchase your own doggie ice cream from Hugo's Ice Creamery... but wait, there's something extra special. Hugo's Ice Creamery will be launching their super limited edition flavour, made specifically and exclusively for Aloha Hound! In fitting in with the tropical theme, this new flavour is named "Aloha Dream" - a coconut based, pineapple spiked treat to "take you away to paradise". Literally good enough for humans to eat too!
As for the fundraiser half of the event, there will be a raffle (with amazing prizes!) to raise vital funds for QLD Staffy & Amstaff Rescue. Many small doggie business owners have come together and kindly donated some of their best products to make up some amazing prizes. In addition to some of the aforementioned doggie food businesses, other businesses that have donated towards the raffle include:
There will also be a range of organised games and friendly competitions on the day, including:
Tallest Dog Competition
Best Dressed Competition
Lucky Dip Ball Bit
And perhaps best of all, there will be a Doggie 'Kissing Booth' on the day! For a small donation, you will get to kiss, cuddle, and pat cute doggos for a good cause. A little birdie has told us that Eddy and Sam will be there, manning the booth for a shift... we hope to see you all there!
