What ever your French dream it will be better with some French phrases and basic conversation. Here's the thing, the French are surprisingly delightful if you make an effort in their language and you show knowledge of the culture they are so proud of.

is a culture centre partially funded by the French government for the maintenance of French Culture and Language throughout the world. Centres exist all around the world - they show French Film Festivals, conduct French language lessons and even French Cooking lessons (or gastronomie - as they like to call it), all at reasonable costs (as the French government kicks in).

If you are interested in learning French you can be guaranteed of the quality of the teachers at , that they are all certified in France and are native speakers. There are classes for adults and children, from beginners to advanced.

can also organise linguistic stays in some of France's most beautiful cities including Paris, Nice, Bordeaux (I can taste the wine already) and Montepellier and also run sorts of events for those who want to practice their French too, such as Les déjeuners Lunch) conversation. These run every Wednesday from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm. You don't need to book but you'll need to bring your own meal. The Alliance provides coffee and tea. The fee for participating is $1 and it's recommend that you have a conversation level of French.
