For all you Francophiles, the Alliance Française de Melbourne has a few fun events upcoming that'll walk you towards the festive season. First up, there's the 'Winery Escape' on Sunday 17 Nov 2024 from 12.30-3.30pm at Dominique Portet Winery at 870-872 Maroondah Hwy, Coldstream. The event will be held in English and French. Get your tickets here for a beautiful afternoon of wine and French delicacies; learn the art and process of winemaking; and start your wine-tasting journey with a guided visit of the cellar and vineyard, taste the wine, then head to the winery's French-style bistro for a light lunch of shared platters eg. starters, main, sides and dessert. Tickets are limited and registration for this event closes on Fri 8 Nov 2024.

Next up is the Beaujolais Soirée on Thursday 21 Nov 2024 from 6.30 to 9pm at LIttle Lon Distilling Co, 17 Casselden Pl, Melbourne. You must be over 18 to attend these wine events. Get your tickets here to enjoy 2 glasses of exquisite Beaujolais wine from M. Chapoutier paired with delicious nibbles, including cheese by Fromager d'Affinois and saucisson. Plus, keep the Beaujolais wine vibe alive at home with a special discount on M. Chapoutier wines which can be purchased on the night. Get in early so as not to miss out on this delightful evening of wine and culture.

The big event has to be the Xmas Market , held at the beautiful Abbotsford Convent, 1 St Heliers St, Abbotsford, from 30 Nov 10am to 1 Dec 6pm. Get your tickets here to attend. Early bird tickets have sold out and general admission is $8. Kids under 12 go free. You'll find over 30 stalls offering delicious French food, arts and crafts and unique gifts at the beautiful heritage-listed site. It's a great time to get that Christmas shopping done, plus the market will be filled with family-friendly activities, live music, and a vibrant celebration of French culture.
