A World of Cheese
Many years ago I lived in Warrnambool, western Victoria, and recently on a long solo drive from Brisbane I drove along the Great Ocean Road, and spent a night in the town. (My timing was excellent as parts of the road are now closed due to rock falls!).
Much of the town is still recognisable to me, but it has certainly grown! I visited some of the places that were familiar to me, and others that I had only heard about.
I drove there early in the morning in the pouring rain, and luckily found a park close to the entrance. Inside I found a wonderland – a shop with a wide variety of gifts, a huge cafeteria and a food store where one could buy not only any of the cheeses, but a whole range of food items and wines from the region.
Additionally, there is a museum at the rear of the building where a range of items, including photographs, vintage machinery, and more are there to explore.
Cheese World and the Museum are open 7 days a week and free to visit - and a great place for all the family to visit and explore. Check the website for details.
