Three teenagers go to a party in the woods near Turtle Lake, and only two come back alive. The third is later found murdered, and the two girls confess to the crime, but all is not as it seems. Years later, Finn, who was only ten years old at the time of the killing, wants to know what really happened the night she lost her big sister, Izzy.

All the Little Liars is a new thriller by Victoria Selman, the author of Truly, Darkly, Deeply . I wanted to read it specifically because I enjoyed her previous novel, but unfortunately, this one is not quite as good. It did keep me reading continuously for an entire morning, so it's a page-turner. However, without wishing to spoil anything, there were a few plot holes that left me puzzled. For one thing, the author doesn't seem to have a very good understanding of the court system.

This book examines toxic friendships, the effects of grief, and the viciousness even children can be capable of under the right (or wrong) circumstances. However, unlike Truly, Darkly, Deeply this book is a bit more upbeat, and even has a happy(ish) ending.

All the Little Liars is not a perfect novel, but it is engrossing enough to make you want to keep reading until the end.
