Looking for something new to do on the weekend?
You might be signed up to a whole heap of emails that advise you of things you can do on the weekend. Other people telling you great ideas. Just like this one!
But have you ever thought of signing up to 'not-for-profit' email lists?
Australia boasts a huge number of charity organisations, all supporting various causes for all ages. We're lucky that way. But we're even luckier that most of these charities throw kick-ass fundraising events that are inexpensive and support a great cause.
Fundraisers in your area will range from breakfast events to balls to dinners to auction events - the list is endless, and they're getting better all the time.
There is an upcoming fundraiser being held by St Laurence Community Services in Geelong called 'All That Jazz', featuring a 1920s dress theme, all-inclusive dinner and drinks, a night of dancing and the promise of famous faces and surprises on the night. All for $100.
The night will also feature a live auction (with Cameron Ling and Jason Akermanis), roaming entertainment, lots of jazz music and of course, lots of drinking. And all money raised will go towards breaking the poverty cycle by securing affordable housing for those experiencing disadvantage.
