Mannum is a friendly country town on the River Murray, a popular holiday destination for many South Australians who enjoy some time on the river. It's renown for good water sports, its historic paddle steamers, scenic countryside, and a rich collection of heritage buildings.

There are too many Mannum attractions to list here, but you can discover plenty of things to see and do in Mannum here .

On the weekend of November 17-18 2018, Mannum will come alive with a flood of new attractions and exciting things to do as the comes to town. This biennial free festival is nominally a celebration of steam, engines, boats and blacksmiths, but there's so much more to get excited about after seeing the festival program.

If the drive down to Mannum has given you an appetite, then you will be heading for the Mannum Regional Food, Wine and Art Fest first. Try the produce from some of the finest local food makers in the region, or head to a local bakery to taste some of the best country pies and pasties. You will be able to wash your food down with local wines from 919 Wines and Bassham Wines or choose one of the friendly country pubs for some cold refreshment.

Take a wander through some of the artisan goods on display at the market stalls, while you decide which of the events to check out first.

Take a River Murray paddle steamer cruise on the PS Marion, PW Mayflower, PS Industry (my favourite) or PS Oscar W

look out for the special guest appearance of PS Canally from Morgan

Be excited by the vintage speedboat displays on and off the water

See the largest congregation of working blacksmiths in South Australia, including a special guest blacksmith from the United States
