This August, the MSO will present the legendary Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with nine-time GRAMMY award-winning trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, performing Marsalis' epic All Rise with the MSO, conducted by Benjamin Northey.
Commissioned by the New York Philharmonic, the legendary Wynton Marsalis composed All Rise in 1999. Representing a series of events, the twelve movements blend the sounds of jazz, blues, classical and indigenous music from around the world to represent humanity's enduring ascendance over time.
