A truly multipurpose location, All-Nations Park in Northcote is a place where many different types of people gather. There are high-school students, senior citizens, young families, fitness types, local residents walking through with their groceries, BMX trick-riders and people sitting to meditate, read or eat their lunch.

They're all there because of the range of activities the park plays host to. There are basketball half courts, areas for soccer or football, a busy skate bowl, wide walking tracks that cover the park's entire thirteen hectares, an amphitheatre, working barbeques, and children can enjoy either one of two playgrounds.

One of the loveliest places to stroll around in All Nations , is beside the banks of the wide, gentle lake. Those familiar with the area will already know about the large, white ducks that nest under the bridge railings and the way the sun glows upon the reeds in the afternoon.

On a walk around All Nation's Park visitors will also enjoy the sculptural works that can be sighted here and there. An unusual Anzac monument crafted out of a plane wings, an indigenous serpent, and an abstract geometric piece on top of an artificial hill are among those on display.

The Australian Bush Garden at the far eastern end of All Nations is convincing. It swallows you up with its winding tracks and can make you feel as if you have actually travelled out into an area of remote scrubland. Other gardens within the park include; a pine forest with a bluestone water course, a formal garden of blossoms, and an olive grove to visit as well.

Do not visit this park if you are squeamish about dogs. There are there in full force, most of the time, in a very high usage off-leash area. You'll see working dogs like Border Collies and Siberian Huskies running full tilt. There are giant poodles, an array of Maltese and Shitzhus, and all manner of terriers. Most dog owners, wanting to preserve their facilities without raising the ire of the local council, do clean up after their pets and the park stays friendly and clean.

has ample car parking off Separation Street, behind the Northcote Shopping Plaza, which is where you can also grab drinks, lunch or afternoon tea during your visit. Alternately the Number 86 Tram or the Epping Train both stop near by.

is a welcoming place if you seek the company of others but is also large enough that you can find a quiet space for yourself if you would prefer to be alone.& #8232 ;
