It's time to talk all about women...again. For the third year in a row, the Sydney Opera House Ideas at the House program will host the
festival. is a day of "ideas and stories" delivered from a variety of speakers and across a spectrum of mediums.
Some of the world's most profound women will appear, including renowned feminist and author Germaine Greer, Elizabeth Gilbert (author of
Eat, Pray, Love), Tara Moss, Judith Lucy, and political journalist Annabel Crabb – among many others of course. The festival will also see celebrated Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O'Connor perform at the Sydney Opera House on March 19, and the multi-talented Swedish performer Neneh Cherry take to the stage in the Concert Hall on March 11 (tickets available through
sydneyoperahouse.com ).
Through panels, music, interviews, art, speeches, and discussions, delivered both live and made accessible to the world via online streaming and web media, the Festival will explore topics such as women in combat, what it is to be a feminist, what is good and bad feminism, women in literature, women of various cultures and religions, women in pop culture, etc. Every issue regarding women in the contemporary society we live in, is seemingly being tackled by some of biggest female voices and encouraging people of all ages, genders, backgrounds to continue this conversation that is all about women.
Tickets for each individual seminar or event can be purchased through
sydneyoperahouse.com .
You can also watch Gretel Killeen star in the miniseries on Youtube
Minister For Men - a collection of tongue-in-cheek shorts produced by Ideas at the House.
