Calling all young witches and wizards. There'll be a little taste of Harry Potter about The Workshops Rail Museum these winter school holidays. Head along to Wizard School to learn all about magic in a special Wizards Workshop, or maybe enter the Starlight Labyrinth, sculpt your own mythical creature to display in the "Magical Menagerie", or solve a magical puzzle.
You might prefer to get lost in the Enchanted Forest, with a collection of magical themed dress ups. There will be creepy crawly craft to create and the ever popular film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone will be playing in The Railway Museum Theatrette, if you need a little wizard-ly inspiration.
Included in The Railway Museum entry cost, you may view the amazing miniature railway, tour the active heritage railway workshop (please be sure to wear enclosed shoes), and play in the railway themed indoor adventure playground. It's also fun to take a picnic or visit The Railway Museum's Trackside Cafe for lunch or morning tea.
Wizards Express Steam Train:
On Wednesday, July 3rd, The Wizards Express Steam Train will depart from The Railway Museum for Grandchester and return again. This is a rare opportunity to experience a real working steam train and also an excellent excuse to dress up in your best wizard costume. Bookings are essential, as this is a very popular train journey.
