She's quick with a witty riposte and a loving put-down
Following the great tradition of drag acts of Danny La Rue, Hinge and Bracket, Lily Savage and Dame Edna comes Dolly Diamond.
Dolly is the alter ego (and we do mean 'ego') of Australian Michael Dalton, who has been performing professionally since the age of ten, playing Oliver in Oliver! in London's West End.
A wonderful and larger than life performer Dolly brings a new twist (and often new lyrics) to old favourites like Love is in the Air and Que Sera, Sera.
She will be performing her show Alive and Intimate at this year's Perth Fringe World.
Dolly says: "For those of you who haven't experienced one of my shows you're in for a real treat. And if you have, I expect you're still smiling. I've been singing nearly all my life and I love to entertain. Be that on the biggest concert stage to the most rubbish Scout Hall. I've done 'em all!"
If you'd like a sneak preview of this grand dame, there's a great clip on YouTube here.
Alive and Intimate runs from Tuesday the 9th til Friday the 12th February at the Circus Theatre, Perth Cultural Centre, Northbridge at 10:00pm each night.
Tickets cost $25 upwards and are available from the Fringe World website here.
