Everyone is welcome at Alfalfa House Community Food Co-Op for the Alfalfa House Taste & Zero Waste Open Day. There are workshops about how your food scraps can become healthy edible meals. Also, learn how to make earth-friendly cleaning products. Become a member and receive a discount. Become a volunteer and receive a bigger discount.
The Open Day is on Saturday 23 March, 2019 from 10am to 2pm. Come along to see what this not-for-profit community Co-op is all about. Learn how to help the planet by growing your own food, buying local produce and how to assist a cooperative like this one.
Experts will share their knowledge of cooperatives and the zero-waste movement. Products available at Alfalfa House are (where possible) organic and package-free with minimal wastage. Bring your own bags and containers, many goods are in bulk dispensers and large jars. It is best to fill your own.
You will taste delicious food and drink prepared by Australia's best artisan producers. See how they use sustainable methods and fresh produce to prepare their wares. Receive inside knowledge from these experts in the zero waste movement.
By being part of these FREE workshops, you can join the conversation about zero-waste and incorporating this philosophy into how you think about food, food shopping and food preparation. Also, you will be entered into a great prize draw just by attending. So, whilst taste testing and learning you could win as well. A great way to spend your Saturday.
Don't forget about the advantages of being an Alfalfa House member. You will receive 10% off your purchases. Even better, become a volunteer and receive 25% off.
Alfalfa House presents this Open Day to give ideas and information about organic food, as well as reusing and buying food in a sustainable way. There is more information on their Facebook page here. You don't have to book but arrive on time as spaces are limited.
