Located approximately 400 metres from the beach and adjacent to the Alexandra Surf Club lies a secluded spot. This area is great place if you want time to yourself; on the other hand it is also a great place to have a romantic walk away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The wood itself is not a particularly a large area, it only offers about 3 short walks, however once in the wood you feel a million miles away in the middle of the rainforest. It is a great place to bird watch and other wildlife observations you may want to do. There are signs that tell the walker the types of trees which are in the wood.

Directly in the middle are some benches which create a fantastic opportunity to have a picnic or to quietly read a book. Once in the wood you will hear many of the rainforest sounds such as the famous Kookaburra. Walking on the paths is generally easy with few steps and uneven surfaces, so great walking footwear is not really needed for the walks. Two seconds in and you are in a different world, visit the Alexandra Woodland.
