The Sydney International Piano Competition (The Sydney) in celebration of 45 years of operation has announced the debut national concert tour of Italian/Slovenian Alexander Gadjiev, winner of the 2021 competition.

26-year-old Gadjiev stole the show at last year's competition, scooping half of all the prizes available. Praised by critics worldwide, he returns to tour Australia and will perform at 24 different concert venues across the country. Tickets for his only Sydney concert event on Saturday 29 October 7:30pm at Sydney Conservatorium of Music are now on sale here.

Expect a stunning display of virtuosic skills by Gadjiev in a program masterfully crafted and anchored in Chopin and Schumann, along with the world premiere of a new work by Australian composer Colin Spiers, who won The Sydney's 'Composing the Future' competition in 2021.

Amongst Gadjiev's 2021 competition accolades include prizes for his programming skills (best preliminary round recital), audience communication (best program presentation) and pianistic ability (best performance of a work by Liszt & romantic period & classical period).

Gadjiev said of his debut national tour "Exploring the vastness of Australia this year, sharing my music in front of live audiences across the country, meeting the locals and mentoring young talent at master-classes and local schools will be a dream come true for me."

Don't miss this special opportunity to see Alexander Gadjiev's one night only Sydney concert on his debut national tour. Tickets are now on sale through Trybooking.
