Back from Adelaide Fringe, Alex Waisel brings her solo show Status Update to Sydney Comedy Festival.

Up until 2013 Alex was working as a lawyer, but has since taken a break to move into comedy.

She has already performed all around Sydney, made her way around the country with her comedy troupe Aggressively Helpful and last year went on as a a RAW comedy NSW state finalist.

Now she's been listed as one of this years Fresh comedy acts

Within the hour, the witty comedian will win you over with her quirky charm and have you laughing until it hurts.

When I asked her why we should check out her show, she responded with, "Because there'll be tales of dogs on bicycles. Because you look like a heaps great hugger. But mostly because you'll probably laugh and make that embarrassing honking sound like a seal."

Alex is performing at The Enmore Theatre this Thursday and Friday.
