Located along George Street,
Alchemy Bar & Restaurant offers a good range of pub-style and more upmarket dishes made from locally sourced produce. It is very popular, attracting a large crowd during the peak dinner hours.
The flesh of the Barramundi was juicy and the skin had a nice crispiness. Garlic herb butter imparted a garlicky taste that was not overwhelming. The broccolini retained its bite, and the fried kale was nicely crisped up. Completing the dish were cherry tomatoes and a lemon wedge to squeeze over the dish.

The portion size of the Warm Beetroot & Radicchio Salad was generous and could easily be shared. Both the radicchio and fennel had a nice crunch. The radicchio had a slight bitter flavour. Sweet chunks of baby beetroot balanced out the bitterness. Vinaigrette dressing gave the dish a tangy flavour and a scattering of almonds provided crunch.

While we thought the crackling of the Pork Belly Bites could have been a bit crispier, the flesh was not tough and they were of a good size. They were tossed in a palm glaze which gave them a sweet-savoury flavour. The accompanying salad was tossed in a nahm jim dressing to give it an Asian flair. The shredded cabbage in the dish retained its crunch.

The restaurant had a cosy feel and diners had the choice between indoor and outdoor seating. Booking ahead is advised if you intend to visit during the peak dining period to ensure you get a table.
