Located in Longreach near the Qantas Museum and the Stockman's Hall of Fame is the , where I spent a night related to my Spirit of the Outback train journey. I stayed there to get refreshed, get some crucial sleep and in hope, the motel was clean, personable and hospitable, and I gladly found my expectations met my experience.

They get a fairly average or everyday score on a lot of reviews I found online, yet, are quite heavily reviewed, with prices high. Yet overall the motel's advertising/reviews hinted to me of somewhere great for seeing the Qantas Museum and Stockman's Hall of Fame. From my point of view, provided it was clean and comfortable with few major issues, I'd be happy to stay there and possibly again. The combination of a reliable shuttle bus and pool and location and possibly the chance for a little vehicle tour of town and the fact the prices in Longreach were all in the vicinity of the 149 AUD paid, were what decided it for me - compared to other motels advertising/reviewed.

I felt that if they could do a good job of the rail station shuttle (which is done free of cost or courtesy) then that was half the battle won in terms of my impression. I stumbled across a good video preview of the Motel's courtesy bus seen in this YouTube offering along with Longreach's many tourist attractions - shuttle bus appears at 7:40 on the video, and it takes them around town. It's a useful preview of exactly what they do with the shuttle bus there, how it can access a lot of Longreach for touring.

They did do a good job, getting me to and from the motor inn safely, and but no extra tours - reason is prior to checkout is hectic for the staff. I thought what a great bunch of people for trying to help people learn about such a great place. I think the motor inn was in line with expectations and was quite memorable for me, it had an optimistic side to it, despite the long 26 hour train journey being draining/tiring. The stay gave me the revitalisation needed to back up and get the train trip home, and it's nice to see all that great scenery a second time on the return trip. However I witnessed a lot of insects and they keep a can of fly spray in the units but I learnt it's part and parcel, in fact, the staff were organised, busy and friendly and I highly doubt the insect I had to squash was from neglect.

The pool looked gorgeous in the morning when they pump the water around. The restaurant was open at least for breakfast with an expensive cold breakfast pack available. Keep in mind the heat is beyond belief - if it had any humidity you'd be stuck for sure, but it's dry and troublesome and so my only issue is why it scores around a point lower than other Longreach motels; well, I suspect they have the best location for the Qantas museum and just got understaffed due to regional Australia booming and a bit complacent. In principle though, what they have is quite good, they had a lot of customers, it's a big motel. It may have families there yet overall it's not a totally family-friendly concept, mainly because it is a walk on the wild side, yet a useful fact is secure and spacious grounds make the place useful for youngsters to ride bikes and explore.

My included photos show the motel to be in good condition. It's a three star motel and I think four stars is a bit high, but at 149 AUD a night for one person, I think ratings aside, I left thinking the overall value was good. Having seen Longreach and , I think their enthusiasm about Outback tourism is a great thing, and easily met my expectations for the entire trip. Longreach is accessible by airplane, train, commercial bus and personal vehicle.

By having parking and the shuttle bus, they can accommodate nearly any arrival. In terms of disabled facilities, nothing too obvious, the place is a bit wild, like the Outback, but the overall output is excellent, like the Outback. The has actual tourist appeal that is underrated in my opinion, there are quite a few things to do there, hence the motel's enthusiasm for showing people the interesting sights around Longreach.
