Albert Park provides a beautiful and scenic environment for a walk with a loved one (furry ones included), friends, a hearty jog or some more intense running.

This fantastic park land is only 3 km from the city centre and hosts a range of facilities that include and highlight the fantastic walking track. The lake itself hosts sailing and rowing, while the track is additionally perfect for cycling. A few restaurants are in the vicinity as well as fantastic venues available for hire for your next function or event.

Several children's playgrounds are located around the lake as well as several ovals, and barbecue facilities, which have tables close by or perfect green grass waiting to receive a picnic blanket.

Bird watchers are spoilt for choice with the gorgeous lake area having an abundance of bird life, which can include the Australian White Ibis, Royal Spoonbill, Black swan, Pacific black duck, Musk duck, and Great Egret. Feeding the ducks is discouraged for their safety and your own. This is to ensure birds don't become conditioned to humans, which makes them less wary and open to predators. It can also cause a greater congregation of birds in the area causing unnecessary competition.

The park track can be used during the day with ease but is also accessible for a late afternoon to early evening stroll due to well placed path lighting. Daylight walks give you the advantage of seeing the scenery around the park, enjoying the picnic areas and watching the sun glisten off the water as you enjoy the fresh air.

Afternoon to early evening walks have the benefit of seeing the lighted city skyline, which looks incredible as it frames the park's edge.

Parking at Albert Park curbside does incur fees via a ticket machine. Time restrictions and ticketing information is displayed on parking signs in the park and don't forgot to make sure your ticket is visible on your dashboard to avoid fines.

So next time you feel like something different or just have the urge for some fresh air – why not visit beautiful Albert Park and its lovely Lake?
