Albert Creek Circuit, Lamington National Park

At 22 km this hike is longer than most in the area, but the great quality track takes you along some of the most beautiful rainforest in the area along with amazing views south to New South Wales and Mt Warning. It's well worth doing for anyone who likes longer hikes.
The hike starts at O'Reilly's, which is officially known as the Green Mountains section of Lamington National park, but no one uses that name. You start along the border track until you see the turn off to Albert Creek Circuit.
You have a choice of doing the circuit in a clockwise or anticlockwise manner. If you want to do the circuit in a clockwise manner, pass the turnoff and keep walking along the border track until you find the second turnoff.
The recommendation from people who have done it both ways is that anticlockwise is the better option as it starts by taking you along the creek, so you start off with the most beautiful part of the track and at the end of the hike you have a fairly straightforward walk back to the border track from Echo Point lookout.
Going anticlockwise you walk down into Black Canyon and follow the creek some of the way. Echo Falls is close to the midway point of the hike and a great scenic spot to stop for lunch.
Alternatively if you prefer your lunch break with spectacular views then Echo Point Lookout is the perfect stopping point. While nearly every hike in Lamington has great views, I think the view from Echo Point is one of the best.
From there you go over a little hump that you will barely notice and then it is mostly down hill back to the border track and a straight run to the cafe at O'Reilly's for coffee, cake or meal.
Overall this is a great and easy to hike track. It's a little long for inexperienced or unfit hikers but certainly a good track to try if you are fit and want to go do something a little longer.
