Hot off her sold-out Australian tour in 2018, she's been busy overseeing the Broadway Production,
Jagged Little Pill The Musical which has received rave reviews.
I attended her 2018 concert, which was an intimate acoustic set and it was phenomenal. My favourite album of her's is MTV Unplugged, so experiencing an acoustic concert of her greatest hits live, was almost the same as the album. Check out my detailed
review of Alanis' 2018 concert, here.
Alanis is not a one-hit-wonder, she is a powerful songstress, who's produced most of her albums, won numerous awards, written her own songs, and she speaks to audiences (not just women) in a way that describes most previous relationships. She wears her heart on her sleeve and her newer music is less angry, but still retains much of what you loved of the past; catchy lyrics, heart-felt ballads and energetic riffs.
If you're a fan, you won't need convincing to see her live, but even if you haven't listened to her recently, a quick recap and all those lyrics of heartbreak and lust, come flooding back.
Whilst she's best known for
Jagged Little Pill, Alanis has a long setlist of hits from eight albums, including:
Uninvited (from the movie, City of Angels)
Her 9th Album,
Such Pretty Forks in the Road is out now. Download the first single from the new album,
Reasons I drink.
Whilst you may not be familiar with
her recent albums, (even I missed the launch of
The Prayer Circle), you'll know every lyric from
Jagged Little Pill. Consider it a bucket-list item, to see your favourite singer, perform all the songs you know and love, in one concert.
Alanis will be supported by
Julia Stone. Half of the Sydney brother and sister duo, Angus and Julia Stone. I saw them live a few years back at the Enmore Theatre, just as they were becoming famous and they were foot-stompingly brilliant. Julia's hauntingly beautiful vocals on her solo album,
By The Horns is proof she's a solid choice to support rock royalty. Julia Stone is currently working on her third solo album, due for release in 2020. Explore more of
Julia Stone's solo albums, here.
Any further updates or reschedules will be emailed out to those on Alanis Morissette's mailing list. Not on the list?
