Luxurious vessels, vehicles and motorcycles at Akuna Bay
Entering The Kuring-gai Chase National Park, after paying the $11 entry fee it won't be long till you get a glimpse of the majestic view, of Coal and Candle Creek and Akuna Bay. The tranquil, glass sheeted, protected Akuna Bay Waters are just so still, but not for the next few days. The 27th, 28th and 29th of September, Akuna Bay will be more alive than ever.

The Akuna Bay, Boating and Leisure Festival is unique as luxury boats and leisure vessels and vehicles meet together for a 3 day event.

Three days of cruising yatchs, boats, cars and motorbikes and many more interesting and exciting Luxury Boats and Vehicles to have your own adventure. A day of dreaming, a day of owning or just an opportunity to have a family day out. Water and Terra-Firma, explore it all. The kids are entertained on the free jumping castle, allowing you the opportunity to board luxury crusiers from various makes and models. Informative talks on boating will be held in the Upper Deck Room from 11am to midday on Saturday and Sunday, be sure not to miss these talks if you are into boating.

All photos are only an example of the make and model of these luxurious vessels and vehicles.

Luxury vessels from Maritimo, Bill Barry-Cotter is Australia's most awarded boat builder. The Maritimo Crusing Motor yacht range showcases sleek designs, large walk round decks and enclosed flybridges and its famous internal stair case. Bill is known to have a joke that it takes 40 years to build a Maritimo. Perfect for that weekend escape or long distance cruising on the seas.

The Prestige range might be more suitable for your boating requirements. French builder Jeanneau has outdone itself with this new addition to their range, creating a four-berth yacht in a 55-foot hull. The master suite has its own stairs from the saloon with large windows, large everything. nothing has been missed.

Then we come to the Halvorsen. Carl Halvorsen managed the Bobbin Head facility. The last of the great wooden boats and the Halvorsen's were known for their design of the Successful Dragon and 5.5m class boats. Carl refurbished Kathleen Gillett, Norweigan's gift for the 1988 Bicentenary, now at the Australian Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour. Carl is legendary because he was made a Knight, First Class of the Royal Order of Merit bestowed by the King of Norway and Norweigian and Australian relations began.

Just a taste of your adventurous day, so many vessels to board, some might like a Gilligan Island type vessel, some more luxurious, maybe a leisure vessel is more your style, either way a luxurious, leisure, big, small, by the end of the day everyone is going to have dreamt, bought, planned to buy or just awe struck by these impressive boats of the sea and a perfect view to match. This should keep boat enthusiast going until next year, oh and don't forget the camera, so you can brag to your friends.

What would the Luxury Boat and Leisure Festival be without the appearance of The Rescue Boat from Cottage Point. The children will be tugging at you to explore the vessel. The Rescue Boat as the name suggests, assists in Maritime Rescue Operations. I have a feeling this will be a big hit with all. It's wonderful to see every operational unit assisting each other, especially on the water.

During the Luxury Boat and Leisure Festival, you will be entranced in all things big, fast and powerful. You will be swept away and won't want to leave such a beautiful area like Akuna Bay and the d'Albora Marinas, I used to visit the Marina a lot when I was living on the North Shore, and I promise you, its all and more. Pack the camera and binoculars too, picnic lunch if you so desire or enjoy the comforts of the Marina, grab the kids and head to Akuna Bay.

Thank you d'Albora Marinas, Akuna Bay for allowing us to see you at your finest.
