Every year this Festival kicks off with a jam session on the beach (Thursday 7 Nov) with a welcome to country by Indigenous dancers and musicians jamming by the Coral Sea before moving to a venue on the Airlie Beach Main Street. The kids don't miss out either with a Special Kids Event at the Main Tent kicking off the day on Sat 9 Nov, then continue for the rest of the afternoon and evening with the official program.
Sunday 10 Nov; start your day with a brunch set to live music, then move to the main tent for the final days program starting at 1pm. You don't want to miss the Festival Finale. To make life easy, there'll be circling free shuttle buses between all the venues during the day with drop-offs at requested accommodation for all ticket holders. Stay tuned via the website for the timetable which will be announced just before the Festival.
If you're having withdrawal symptoms when the Festival is over, don't despair. Mon 11 Nov is the After Party where good times will continue, and don't forget to purchase your tickets for the 2020 Festival before you go home at one-off special rates. An event like this doesn't run smoothly without its volunteers, so if you're passionate about music and know your way around Airlie Beach, run with the VOLUNTEERS.
The lineup, like every year, reads like a who's who of superstars! However, don't forget to support The Finals from Australia's largest live original music competition. You'll hear the winning act from each region competing in the finals with the overall winner invited back to play the Main Stage the following year.
Aside from the music, there's lots more artistic endeavours happening at this Festival, like light projections, speed painting and more. Buy a three-day Festival Pass from 17-31 October 2019 and you'll go into a draw to win a meet and greet with one of the nation's most renowned musicians. True Blue John Williamson. The winner will also have a professional photograph taken and receive Airlie Beach Festival of Music merchandise signed by the man himself.
Every year, the Airlie Beach Festival of Music supports the Pink Ribbon Charity Fair. Join them in the fight against cancer at this year's Airlie Beach Festival of Music by buying or bidding on one of the Pink Guitars. Raffle tickets from The Pink Ladies are just $5 each and only available to patrons of the Airlie Beach Festival of Music at the event.
