The orchestra has a proud and rich history as the public face of our esteemed Air Force. Based on their commitment to the values Respect, Excellence, Agility, Dedication, Integrity and Teamwork, The Air Force Band uses music and ceremony to promote their division of our armed forces. As such, the band often works in partnership with various government organisations, industry partners and the community as a whole.
This world-class military band are generously sharing their time, talents and music with us on Sunday 14th August 2016 at the Melbourne Town Hall, corner Swanston & Collins Streets, Melbourne. Entry is free and the band will be playing from 2pm to 3pm.
Flight Lieutenant Stephan Bate will be leading the band for his first full-length concern. The set will include two original pieces composed by the conductor himself, titled Kingsford Fanfare and Along the Way. The repertoire also includes the Jubilee Overture, First Suite in E-flat, American Salute, Symphony No. 5 ½, A Symphony for Fun, Largo from Symphony No. 9, From the New World and Awayday.
