Eddy at the entrance of Ainslie Park.

If you are looking for a nice, small park that you can have all to yourself, look no further. Ainslie Park, which was established only recently in 2010, is situated in a residential area - it is likely that only locals know of its existence! Although small, it does have the basic necessities, including play equipment, picnic tables, a bike/walking track, and a bin.

Shady track.

Cute little frogs to do frog jumps over! Also a great place to play with sand without having to travel to the coast/South Bank.

Picnic tables - also a great place for parents/caregivers to supervise, while escaping the sun!

The large majority of the park is shady, either from the trees or from the large canopy over the playground area - bonus! Enjoy being outdoors without having to worry about sun damage from overexposure.

The playground is under the shade of the giant canopies - don't fret about your children getting sunburned!

The one major thing that I felt was missing are toilets. However, there is a shopping village, Marsden on Fifth, that is literally a 2 minute drive away. Plus, there was the coolest art mural outside a vet clinic nearby...

Of course we had to pull over to take a picture!

It might also be worth noting that Ainslie Park does not have its own car park, although there is plenty of street parking adjacent to and near the park. Because its nestled in a residential area, there are no time limits for parking, so feel free to stay as long as you like!

As a final observation, Ainslie Park has also got some pretty cool cement slabs as benches - each has a different word on them. Maybe its some sort of riddle? I might well be missing some of these - perhaps when you have all the words, you can use them to form a sentence? Do let me know if you ever find out!

What an obedient dog Eddie is! The sandstone blocks with their beautifully carved words are rather attractive.
