An amazing array of colours, voices that reached highs and lows, and beautiful costumes all under one roof. The Opera House concert room held Verdi's Aida.
Sitting in the far back, reading the surtitles and watching Jacqueline Mabardi play Aida hit the notes, brought tears to my eyes and to the eyes of others.
The audience, young and old, were in absolute awe of her performance, as well as the performance of others.
From Rosario La Spina who played Radames, captain of the Egyptian army to Ramfis, the High Preist played by David Parkin, all gave the performance of a lifetime.
A cultural experience filled with imagination, lighting and colour. Aida will be playing until October 13.
Bravo Giuseppe Verdi.
