Ai Sushi had been recommended as one of the best places for high quality Japanese food in Chiang Mai and the food we had was certainly very tasty.

Salmon Sashimi
It is situated opposite the Suan Kaew Shopping Centre and seems like a buzzy little place. We went on a Sunday night and it was still busy despite the draw of the Sunday Night Walking Street Market.
We decided to prop up the bar in proper Sushi-style and ordered Salmon Sashimi, Miso soup, prawn tempura and spicy salmon maki.
The miso was great, with a lot of flavour and the Sashimi was fresh and beautiful as you can see from the picture above.
The food is all prepared directly in front of you with great skill, speed and precision and is one of the advantages of sitting right at the bar as you watch the guy de-veining your shrimp.
The one thing we weren't totally satisfied with was the maki which came drizzled in a spicy sauce rather than having the spicy within as it were.
Certainly some very good food on offer here although the gyoza we got from the Sunday Market were pretty spectacular as well.
