An expert once said, "If you haven't worn that item of clothing in the past year, then it's obviously not something that you hold dear" (that expert being my mother).

This is so true though because I have things in my wardrobe that have sat there year after year. Nope, not the 'right' thing for this occasion; nope, it's too revealing; nope, it's not the right colour; nope, it looks like the 1980s. They continue to live there, all the while new stock continues to pour in and eventually I have too many clothes, which I never thought was even possible.

If you have the same problem, then ahm Fashion Exchange on Sunday 10 November is your answer!

Here, you can get rid of clothing that you once loved but never wear anymore and swap it for something you love. How perfect is that? So purge your wardrobe and pick up to six items of clothing; bring it to Lighthouse Studios on Sunday 10 November between 10am and 12 noon; collect a token for each item; come back between 12 noon and 3pm to exchange your token for items you fall in love and ta-da: you now have six completely different items. What's more, if you want more, clothing can also be purchased to swap during that time.



Expect to find shirts, pants, jackets, dresses, bags, accessories as well as designer clothing, high street basics and vintage clothing. Don't be surprised if you find items still with the tags on because I'm sure we've all bought something that we've never even worn.

The best thing about this is that it's all completely free, but places are limited so register now to secure your place.

So for all the men and women out there, if you've made a regretful purchase, fell out of love with your clothing, or own something that simply doesn't look right no matter the occasion, then this is for you. Make sure they're in a pretty good condition, washed and ironed, have no faults or holes and attach that tag if you still have it. Just ask yourself, 'Would you be happy if you received this in the exchange?'
