On the Brescia hills, just three kilometres from Lake Garda, you can have a superb relaxing day at Pratello farm and agritourism. I went there for a three days romantic retreat and I cannot wait to go back again.
To reach the farm, you have to drive along small streets. Some of them quite steep, deep in the reinvigorating vegetation until you arrive to a tiny medieval hamlet and, beyond a huge open gate on your left side, you will enter the big countryside property.
You immediately will notice three different buildings: the one on the left is for the breakfast room and the lodgings; the one in the centre is the restaurant, which includes an ample wine cellar in the underground, and the building on the right side holds the huge reception room and the magnificent suite.
All the structures are very well restored and finished with refined details. The double room is fresh with old restored beds that add a typical trait to the whole complex.
Ask for Cristina to be accommodated. She is the Hospitality Manager; she is so kind and very professional.
I was hearing odd noises coming from the courtyard: as I opened the window I could see this beautiful albino peacock walking undisturbed through the area. So gorgeous!
As it is said here that the water is filtered naturally, without any use of chemicals, the perfect choice to avoid allergies and skin rashes.
Moreover, still referring to the natural and lifestyle theme, Pratello exclusively offers to their guests biological foods and typical products from the neighbouring lands. Everything must be organic for the management's mission that stands for the respect of nature and the local environment.
Thus, a different menu is edited by the seasonal availability of each dish. I went there in April and I had the Tagliatelle with duck sauce: simply delicious and delicate.
You would able to enjoy all that delicacies in the rustic, cosy and well-lighted dining room, where an elegant wine bar is located near the fireplace.
Speaking again of the preservation of the value of the territory, Pratello involves the community in producing its wines, extra virgin olive oils derived from five groves spread around the municipalities' hills and offered in three sizes (o,25 lt, 0.50 lt, 1,50 lt), berries preserves (the list includes blackberry, raspberry, rosehip, persimmon, elderberry, jujube, black/red/white currant and pumpkin) - which you can taste every morning while having your breakfast - and a range of quality wool produced by the Alpaca breeding situated further the cypress-lined avenues.
I express my intention to go there again. Indeed, I will eventually try the suite: you can have a look by clicking here and you will get an idea of it. There are splendid copies of Botticelli's masterpieces -The Venus and The Primavera- that decorate the room together with 1800 furniture and a private marbled bathroom.
