Give yourself a break - head on to the country
Agricultural shows are generally very interesting and especially those in the country and regional areas. They have all sorts of things for the whole family and what a great excuse to leave the city, traffic and crowds behind for a few days!

1. Mingenew Lions Midwest Expo
This will be held on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th August 2018, from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm at The Mingenew Recreation Centre.

This will be the largest Agricultural show in the Midwest of WA. With exhibitors that will interest the whole family, there will be an education trail and entertainment for the children, cooking demonstrations, art displays and great food! There will be over 300 industry experts showcasing their agricultural and farming knowledge.

This expo will be an exciting and rare chance to interact with multiple innovators from a wide range of farm-based industries.

Currently, the Mingenew Midwest Expo is celebrating its 35th year. The expo promotes and educates the modern community on the future of farming. Check out the huge number of exhibitors here.

2. Beverley Agricultural Society Inc
The Country Connections Show will be on 18th August with gates opening at 9.00 am. It will be another fun filled day with such things on as:

3. Wild About Mullewa
The 85th Wild About Mullewa Show will be held on Saturday 25th August, at the Mullewa Recreation Grounds.

4. York Agricultural Day
The York Agricultural Day will be on 1st September, from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm. It will be held at the York Oval and Showgrounds in South Street. This is a family friendly fun day and some of the events on here will be:

Paddock walk
Animal petting zone
York Agricultural Society Show Train
Wood chop demonstration
Working Sheep dog Displays
Under 5's at York Early Years Hub - face painter, bouncy castle and free toddler activities
Live music
Shire of York fireworks

5. Dowerin Field Day
Dowerin Machinery Field Day will be held on 29th and 30th August, from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm at Memorial Avenue.

The Dowerin GWN7 Machinery Field Days is an agricultural expo located in the Central Wheatbelt of Western Australia and is among the three largest agricultural machinery events in the country.

The small Wheatbelt community swells from a population of a few hundred to over 25,500 throughout the two days in August. The number of exhibitors is around 770 nowadays and people travel from all over the State, country and even overseas!

6. Chapman Valley Show
This show will be held on 1st September, from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm at the Nanson Showgrounds, in Nanson. Nanson is a Mid West region between the city of Geraldton and the town of Northampton. The town is situated on the banks of the Chapman River in the Chapman Valley.

The Valley's one-day​ agricultural event will showcase local businesses and the lovely valley and agriculture within.

Entry cost is from $5 to $15, and children are FREE.

7. Newdegate Machinery Field Days
This field day will be held on 5th and 6th September, from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm daily.

This is their 46th Annual Field Days, and there is a FREE children's program. Other things being featured here are:

Ewe Hogget and Fleece Competitions

It will be a family fun day with tickets costing $25 for adult; $10 for concession and children under 16 years are FREE. Find out more at this link.

8. Open Day
This open day will be hosted by the WA College of Agriculture, Cunderdin and will be held on 7th September. If you are interested in a "farming life", this day has an open college for prospective students and families to visit and experience all the things that they have to offer.

9. Harvest Festival
This will be held on 5th and 6th October at MacPherson St, Carnamah.

10. Quairading Ag Show
This will be on 6th October from 10.00 am to 11.45 pm.

11. Kellerberrin & Districts Agricultural Show
This will be held on 13th October and details have not yet been released.

12. Esperance and Districts Agricultural Show
This one will be held on 19th and 20th October, from 9.00 am.

It will be an action packed, fun filled two days, including fireworks, and so much more. This show attracts about 12,000 visitors to the two-day event. Exhibitors have everything from sheep to cattle and machinery to caravans. Inside there will be candles, wines, chocolates, honey and much more.

Do make a note of some of these dates as these shows and events will be unique to the country!
