Free Exhibition of Works by Award Winning Artists
From Wednesday 6th to Sunday 17th August 2014, the Australian Gallery of Realist Artists (AGRA),1 Inglesby Road, Camberwell, is holding an exhibition of paintings by the winner and runner-up of the Australian Art Excellence Medallion for 2013/14.
AGRA is the Australian national body for representational/realist art and artists. Formed in 1973, it attracts both the exhibiting professional and other artists committed to producing fine artwork.

One of AGRA's goals is to encourage, promote and celebrate art excellence Australia wide. The Australian Art Excellence Medallion is a tangible and public way that AGRA works towards achieving this goal.
The Art Excellence Medallion competition was introduced in 2000. There is a $3500 promotional package on offer to the winner of the Medallion, ensuring there is always strong competition.
In this exhibition, you will see works by the following artists:
Julian Bruere, winner of the Medallion for 2013/14. Julian is a watercolourist and illustrator. He paints and draws a variety of themes, with a focus on alpine snowgums, city scenes, landscapes, and maritime scenes. Julian has also illustrated over 75 children's books.

Betina Fauvel-Ogden, painter of romantic Parisian oil paintings, was the winner of the Terry Collins Medallion (second place). Her work Tranquil also won the packing room award. Her works are popular and always sell out.

Opening night of the Exhibition is at 7.00pm on Wednesday 6th August. All are welcome.

The paintings in the exhibition are for sale. Gallery entry is FREE.
AGRA is open from 10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, and 1.00 to 4.30pm on weekends.
