The Africultures Festival is the the biggest annual African festival in Australia, held over one day in Auburn Park with the aim of bridging the cultural gap and increasing the awareness of Africans in Australia. In 2015 the event will be held on Saturday March 14.
There will be lots to do at the festival, with the Kilimanjaro Stage hosting artists, dancers, drummers and unique African performances as well as the Fashion Show (featuring members of the public who dressed up for the occasion). A second stage will feature more acts.
There will also be a food court with 14 different providers of African cuisine and a sports zone where African nations will participate in a soccer tournament. A kid's zone will offer face painting, dance and drum workshops, a playground and an animal farm, while a marketplace will have stalls selling African products such as clothing, fabrics, homewares and accessories.
