Federation Square is about to come alive with vibrant colours, heart pumping music and diverse arts and cultural performances. That can only mean one thing. The African Music and Cultural Festival has come to town and the 10th December 2016 from 11am to 9pm is the date and time for this free event at Fed Square.
Travel to Africa and experience the sights, sounds and smells through an array of performers, dancers and artists in traditional costumes, and delicious authentic African cuisine available on the day.
Not to be missed, be sure to take your friends and family to what is essentially a fantastic celebration that promotes cross-cultural awareness and fosters intercultural relationship. Bringing African Australians together with the wider Australian community to celebrate cultural heritage and diversity, more than 30,000 people are expected to attend.
CLICK HERE for the schedule, as you're not going to want to miss all the artists performing at the event, some we are more than familiar with, from past events. Amongst the performers are the Burundian Drummers whose heartbeat resonates with the sound of the drum. If you've never heard of or heard Abe Nouk, a spoken word poet, now is the time. He's mind blowing! The Asanti Dance Theatre is another performance not to miss. They'll captivate you with their power, precision and energy.
Fashion, henna art, handmade and crafted African products and more, this event has it all. Check the website for more details.
