Event:
Enjoy this great annual festival of African culture
Africa Day is where Brisbane's fast growing African community comes together to both celebrate their culture and showcase it to Brisbanites. Enjoy a day eating African food, listening to African music, watching performances and shopping at a number of different African stalls.

There will also be workshops on a number of different things, in particular an African drumming workshop and also expect African dance lessons. Most of these are suitable for kids, but anyone young at heart can join in as well.

The new location in Morningside provides plenty of parking in the side streets, but very little dedicated parking right near the location. Your best best will be parking at the Morningside Train Station which is only a short walk away. As for public transport, then the train station provides an easy way to get to there, though there are also a couple of buses heading in that direction as well.

With a range of great food options available, you will also certainly be able to find a range of East African food, as well as Ethiopian coffee, Eritrean tea and usually some food stalls selling the typical festival fair that will satisfy kids who don't want to try anything exotic.

It is recommended that you bring along a picnic blanket if you want to just chill and relax, though there will also be chairs setup in the performance areas. Don't forget sunscreen and a hat.
