On Saturday the 19th of May 2018, the Powercor Country Festival will return to Melbourne's Yarra Park in the lead-up to the evening's country-themed AFL match between Geelong and Essendon. This free community event is being held to celebrate country Australia and will take place from 1pm-4pm.

The afternoon will include a range of displays, entertainment and activities for the whole family, including:
Animal farm
Jumping castles
Free fruit
Face painting
Interactive entertainment and footy activation from event sponsor, Powercor
CFA display
Ute display
Tractor display
Camel rides around Yarra Park
Wood Chopping
Whip Cracking
Sheep Shearing
Celebrity appearances

There will be a number of performers on the day, including:
The Black Sorrows
John Williamson
Michelle Gardiner
Darren Coggan

There will also be market stalls, food trucks and a beer garden for those wishing to purchase food and other items.

AFL Match
If you'd like to stay for the footy afterwards, the Geelong Cats will take on the Essendon Bombers at the MCG at 4:35pm, with ticket prices starting at $25 for Adults ($17 Concession) and $5 for children.

Getting there:
Yarra Park is located next to the MCG in Melbourne and is easily accessible by car or public transport.
