You aren't wealthy until you have something money can't buy
It's that time of the year again; love is all around, restaurants are buzzing with bookings, florists are working overtime and copious amounts of heart shaped chocolates are consumed. But with the general expenses of daily living, not everyone can afford that fancy outing that can leave you out of pocket when all the hype is done and dusted. However, there is still a way to enjoy a romantic night out with that special someone without sending yourself down the worry train of money woes.
Adelaide knows how to put on a swell event, and a cheap one at that. If you look hard enough you'll discover an array of pocket friendly date ideas that are just as good as a $300 outing.
The City of Unley in association with Alliance Française d'Adelaide bring you this joyful event that is both free and romantic in every way. Set in Heywood Park; a beautiful surrounds for a night with your loved one, you'll enjoy a screening of the renowned French heartfelt film "The Intouchables". Local patisseries such as Boulangerie 113 and Mulots Patisserie will make your night even better with Macaroons, Baguettes and more. Various other food stalls will also be present to supply you with yummy treats whilst you kick back on the lawns with a bottle of wine.
If you're the outdoorsy type and prefer to head out during the day to take advantage of some rays and make a day of it all, then head down to the Willabrand Fig Orchard. For $10 you can wander through the terraced orchards and pick up to a kilo of delicious, in season and juicy figs, whilst enjoying the company of your significant other. It's a fun and productive way of spending quality time with a loved one; away from the shops, and overwhelming city scene.
For $8 per adult, you can jump on board the Port Princess for a 1 and a half hour dolphin cruise. Hot food and drinks can be purchased on board, or you can initially pay an extra cost inclusive of one main meal or 2 main courses, the choice is yours! It's definitely a unique Valentine's Day date idea, that is actually quite affordable considering you get to enjoy breathtaking views of the serene waters and witness the dolphins do what they do best.

The time has finally come and Zoolander 2 will be released shortly. This highly anticipated film will be played outdoors at Auchendarroch House, Wallis Cinemas at 8.45 pm; another great way to soak up the final month of summer before we welcome autumn. Bring along a picnic blanket, some snacks and settle in for a night of laughs with your lover or friend.
