Founded by Will Ramsay of Will's Art Warehouse, the focus on affordable contemporary works from less known artists drew tens of thousands to the fair in London in 2000. Visitors were attracted by the friendly approach, ease of buying, breadth of choice and affordable prices. From London the Affordable Art Fair has toured cities around the world including New York, Seattle, Stockholm, Hamburg, Milan, Brussels, Amsterdam, Mexico City and Hong Kong. The event has attracted over 1.4 million visitors globally, with some USD316 million worth of art exchanging hands.
