Adventures in Zambezia is about a young falcon, Kai, who wants adventure in his life but is held back by his protective father, Tendai.
His accidental meeting with birds travelling to Zambezia, who tell him of the great wonders and of the fighting league the 'Hurricanes', lead him to finally break free and find this promising land. There, he makes new friends, meets dangerous foes and finds out why his father kept him from Zambezia.

The plot is predictable and has a similar 'overbearing father' cue to The Croods, which was also released these school holidays, and 2005 movie, Valiant.

However, the music and visual animation was wonderful and the movie didn't 'drag' at any moment. It's a great movie for kids and parents can appreciate the moral of 'accepting everyone no matter what they look like'. It matched it's target audience very well - the children I was looking after said they enjoyed the movie a lot. 3.5 stars
