A retired business owner, my passions are cooking, photography and eating. I use all three of these when I write for recipeyum.com.au which is on HubGarden
Event:
You can run, jump and climb with your dog at this event
There will be mud, dogs, obstacles, more dogs and heaps of exciting adventure!

Most dogs love to get out and go somewhere with you - well many dogs do (I have one who will not get into the car and hides if I try to put her in!) love to be out and about, bounding and jumping, running through water and waterlogged fields.

All dogs and their humans are invited to the annual Adventure Dog which is a cross country challenge to help raise money to care for all the animals at Animal Aid.

This will be held at Wandin Park Equestrian Centre. Here you and your fur babies will be both mentally and physically challenged. Together you will go out to the hills, under the wood and through the mud. Then you will go in the bush and go headlong into the water there! And all the while you can enjoy the views you will see across the Yarra Valley and looking towards Mt Donna Buang. It will be on Sunday 17th May 2019 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.

You are welcome to bring your friends and family to give their support. There will be a lot of activities to keep everyone busy and interested while you go on the course!

After you come to the end of this challenge, you and your pooch will then be able to join your supporters and have something to eat. There will be a lot of food and drink there in the event village.

Animal Aid is a place of refuge for the lost, unwanted and abandoned animals. They try to reunite lost pets and are quite dedicated to improving the welfare of all companion animals and they always seek to find them good homes.

Each year around 6,000 animals come through this shelter and they could be injured, lost, abandoned or even given in by their owners. This shelter has been running for about 70 years now. Their thinking is that with love, some kindness and expert care they will focus on an animal's future instead of looking at its past.

Shelters like these are much needed in our society today. They do so much good for animals, which are left alone or mistreated through no fault of their own.
