Expand your mindfulness experiences and feel your creativity flourish in this unique 6-week advanced group program incorporating Mindfulness, Art Therapy and Positive Psychology. This outstanding course is set to run each Thursday evening between 6.00pm and 8.30pm from 2 November through to 7 December, 2017 in the rooms of Zest Infusion at 19/112 Birkdale Road, Birkdale.
No artistic ability is required but it is recommended you have some experience with mindfulness meditation to obtain the most benefit from the program.
Cost for the full program of six weekly sessions is $450 and includes all handouts, meditation audio, art materials and a 30-minute individual session with the art therapist, Angela Hall.
Please Note: A Medicare rebate of $31.65 per session is available for participants who have a valid group therapy referral from their GP.
Tea and Coffee will also be available during the evenings.
Zest Infusion's, Advanced Creative Mindfulness Course, will teach participants how to use art making as a mindful activity based on mindfulness practices and how they incorporate the body, compassion and group reflection. It is an imaginative and informative workshop where you will integrate art therapy with mindfulness practices as you:
discover your own signature strengths using art therapy and mindfulness exercises;
overcome obstacles to your meditation practice through the application of these signature strengths; and
learn how to best use mindfulness as a means for further development of your signature strengths and how to best apply them to your everyday activities.
Because mindfulness is based on meditation principles and involves paying attention intentionally and without judgment, you learn to be wholly present in the moment. In mindfulness art therapy you become purposefully present to the process as you create an opening where your unconscious can be communicated.
Facilitators for the course are, Clinical Psychologist, Dr Ilze Grobler and Arts Therapist and Counsellor, Angela Hall. These two very experienced practitioners will guide you through this interactive, practical program to ensure you achieve the greatest benefit.
Don't miss this wonderful opportunity for self-expression, exploring how to care for oneself and others, investigating the impacts of your life's experience and practising with others in a group context.
The session includes: art making as a mindful activity, guided mindfulness practices, mindfulness of the body, compassion-focused practices and group reflection.
During the session there will be an opportunity for self-expression, exploring care for oneself and others, investigating your direct experience and practising with others in a group context. You will be guided and supported during the workshop by the facilitators.
