Adult Drama Classes - Recreational or Performance

Drama With A Difference is one of Australia's leading, independent drama schools. With a history that spans over twenty-years, it is the launching pad of many successful actors. Our students have appeared in major roles in feature films, TV series, ads and Theatre Productions.

Although the ideal school for aspiring actors, we are equally committed to providing recreational adult classes to the general public. You do not need prior experience to attend any of our adult classes, and there is a choice of whether or not you wish to be involved in a class that works towards a public performance, or one that does not include a public performance.

Many adults attend our classes because they wish to become actors; however an equal number attend for purely recreational purposes.

Students attend to develop greater self-esteem, improve upfront presentation skills, meet like-minded people, reconnect with their creativity, or simply to have fun. Drama is a great form of stress release and our adult students come from a wide range of backgrounds, professions, trades and ages.

We are now taking enrolments for Block 2 of the year, and the Adult Class options are:

  • 1. The general adult recreational class that meets for two hours per week. It may involve a small 'in-house' show to friends and family at some stage, but it does not have a public performance. The link for information about this course is here.

  • 2. The Melbourne Fringe Festival Performance Course. This class meets for two and a half hours per week, and the time commitment is also greater, in that you will need to commit to at least two blocks with the school. You will learn the techniques of acting, as learnt by professional actors, and they will be applied to a devised piece of theatre for public presentation in September, 2017. This amount of time is required for such an undertaking. However, times are adult friendly and commitments are out of work hours. For this course, please go to the following link.
