Dancing is a fantastic way to work out and if you get bored easily, is far more entertaining than the gym. If you live in Sydney's south and don't know how to dance, this article is for you. If you live in the East , Lower North Shore or the Hills District (and the West), I've already got you covered. Adult dance classes in Sydney's South are available for you right now, here is what I found for you.

1. Ballroom & Latin Dancing at the Meridian Dance Centre

Located in two places (Sutherland and Condell Park), the Meridian Dance Centre has ballroom and Latin classes for adults. These classes run at different levels - beginners all the way through to advanced. Casual dance classes are $20 per single class, $60 per three week term or $100 per 6 week term (one free class or $16.67 each class on average) or 12 week term (two free classes or $16.67 each class). The great thing about this school is that you can pay by Paypal . There are also private wedding dance classes and of course teen and kids dance classes available at this school. Check out the timetable - adult dance classes are available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for Sutherland or Wednesday evenings for Condell Park at the time of publishing this article.

2. Dance With Us - Latin, New Vogue, English Old Time and Sequence at St George Dance Centre

Monday nights and Friday nights, you can dance the night away with Dance With Us at St George Dance Centre at Kogarah. A lovely looking couple, Steve and Paula run the St George Dance Centre. They teach ballroom dancing, Latin American, Paso Doble, Salsa, Merengue, New Vogue, Modern Ballroom, Tango and more. Steve and Paula also have wedding dance lessons and offer private tuition as well. There is also a monthly Social Dance for only $13 per person, which runs from 8:00pm to 11:00pm the third Saturday of every month. The studio is air conditioned and fresh water is supplied for attendees. The brilliant thing is that this dance school actually offers a free dance lesson before the social dance every month from 7:15pm to 7:45pm. Ordinary classes are quite cheap too, at $10 per person per hour of class . This place also offers private lessons for only $70 per hour. Overall, relatively inexpensive place compared to some of the others and clearly very experienced teachers with good intentions.

3. Pole Dancing & More at Haus of Pole

This interesting studio located in Menai offers beginners pole, lyrical pole, pole'ography, pole positions, booty shaking or twerking, SFX (special effects), stretch classes, barre, striptease, lap-dancing and showgirl dance. Classes are on in the evenings - please see the timetables for terms 4 and 5 respectively as at August 2017. Classes start at $110 for four weeks ($27.50 per class), but there are other deals available on the website . Casual pole classes start at $35 per drop-in class and casual dance, pilates or stretch classes start at $25 each (drop-in price). If you'd like to come into the studio for practice, you can pay $10 per hour in cash without making a booking. Private lessons will cost $120 per hour with any teacher for any style.

To all of the South Sydney WeekendNotes readers, I hope that this article has been of assistance and that you get twerking today.
