Adopt a Golden Oldie

Who can put a price on love?

You can, for the cost of a donation of your choice.

Companionship and unconditional love are yours in the form of a Golden Oldie. Until further notice, you can adopt any cat over the age of seven from the Cat Haven, for a donation of your choice.

A small word in your ear

"As a Golden Oldie, I would like a house trained human who understands the needs of a senior citizen. After all, I come sterilised, micro chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas.

Naturally, we would have a chat to see if we match. As we sit by the winter's fire watching the footy, it would be nice to be on the same team".

Just point me to the potty

"My days of rushing around the house using the furniture for a scratching pole and being rescued half way up the curtains are over.

That does not mean I do not like a bit of fun, but I pace myself now.

I will happily sit with you on a lazy summers afternoon or snuggle up to you as the winter's rain tumbles down. Non-the less I am the perfect companion as you prune the roses or mow the lawn. However, I will place myself in a safe and comfortable position.

As a people watcher, I may not immediately answer your every call . I don't bark!

I am a little inscrutable".

Happy or Homeless?

Our 18-year-old Golden Oldie has resided with us since birth, enjoying a good life.
Tinker still monitors the gardening and even now can leap three times her height to the couch. She achieves this from a standing start, no less. However, a comfortable spot on the floor to check out the inside of her eyelids will do.

Sadly, many 'moggies' are not so fortunate and find themselves homeless as they enter their senior years.

Pay it forward

Cat Haven has been rescuing cats from the dangers of the streets since its beginnings in 1961, never saying 'no' to a homeless cat or kitten. However, with so many to care for, new homes are desperately needed.

Give an older cat a second chance - adopt a gorgeous cat over seven years old and only pay the price you want. The love and companionship will be priceless.

A cat on the dashboard

Your treasured Golden Oldie must be transported home in a secure cat carrier. If you do not have one, you can purchase one from the Cat Haven. Unfortunately, they cannot make any exceptions. Would you have it any other way?

Contacts for a cuddle

Please check their website (with lots of photos), contact the Cat Haven on (08) 9442 3600 or pop down to 23 Lemnos St, Shenton Park, for a cuddle (don't forget your cat carrier).
