A humorous, passionate and highly entertaining show, called Admission One Shilling, is coming to Perth for a strictly limited season. After captivating audiences in Britain, this fantastic show is now touring Australia, and will be performed on Thursday 29th May, 2014, Friday 30th May, 2014 and Saturday 31st May, 2014, at His Majesty's Theatre in Perth.



Admission One Shilling tells the fascinating story of Dame Myra Hess, one of Britain's best-loved Pianists. During the Second World War Dame Myra, put her own international career on hold, and produced over seventeen hundred lunchtime concerts at the National Gallery in London. Her popular lunchtime concerts not only kept London audiences entertained, but also helped to keep morale up during wartime.

This entertaining account of musical achievement which lasted the entire period of war, is performed by award winning actress Patrical Routledge (well known as Hyacinth Bucket in the TV series Keeping Up Appearances) and renown classical pianist Piers Lane.

Direct from the UK, Admission One Shilling will delight audiences with the unique story of one of the most remarkable musical achievements of the 20th century, and features beautiful music by Chopin, Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert and Bach.

The show runs for approximately one hour, with no interval.
