Adelia and her flair for tasty tidbits
San Daniele del Friuli is known not only for the typical prosciutto and Biblioteca, but also for the fantastic patisserie Adelia di Fant.

As the online bio tells, the activity started with the spirits production, before the passion for chocolate evolved onto sweet manufacturing and more goods. We joined a tour of the workshop a couple of winters ago, after our visit to Biblioteca Guarneriana, in search for a warmer location and a coffee-break too.

As a welcome, there was a banquet with bowls of nuggets made by different chocolates surrounded by the typical spirits like the melon cream and grappe grappa is the worldwide representative Friulian spirit: when you hear the word grappa, you'll think of Friuli for sure!. An oval cutting board on the table was offering chunks of hazelnut milk and dark chocolate, while the near cake stand presented an array of pralines with different colored decorations and the corner behind showed the cans with[B] unique sugars and chocolate spreads.

The greeting part continued describing other boards and shelves full of boxes and packed pralines ready to be sold. The products also include cake popsicles, urns with chocolate-covered beans, biscuits, fruit candies, candied fruit, special pieces of chocolate mixed with dehydrated real flowers, lollipops and the famous Cuneesi chocolate titbits.

A special thanks has to be given to the kind staff who let us enter in the laboratories and explained the making process of Easter chocolate characters (at the time of the visit, Easter time was approaching).

If one lands on Adelia's website, he could choose from and buy what he enjoys the most among the online supply. All the goods seen in the article pictures approximately reflects those one displayed in the ecommerce channel. Clearly, the staff creativity might suddenly change, as the director and pastry chefs always are artists, after all.

As said before Grappa is a typical Italian spirit that originates from grapes. Every grappa has different scents and aromas and here you could discover these inner qualities at their best. Following the website, the liquor's selection would be among gin with alpine grasses, blueberry and grappa, William's pears brandy, cherry and liquorice liquors and rosolio - a sweet cordial made from spirit, roses' petals and sugar, very popular amongst our granny's culture.

Furthermore, you will find chocolate liquors, alcoholic creams of melon, coffee, raspberry, milk and grappa or bombardino often associated to the vov brand -another liquor made with eggs, rhum, cream and zabaione. Also, it derived from the grannys' culinary traditions during wintertirme, when cold was particularly biting.
What about fruits under spirit? Adelia has them too! Hence, she proposes apricots and figs on brandy, cherries under liquor and raisin on grappa.

The chocolate section recommends pralines in different formats and the unique ones with spirtis called le SPIRITose (this is a language game, as spiritoso is an Italian word for humorous, emphasise here with the word spirit), as well as the one with flowers and fruit and those ones belonging to Adelia's long family tradition which are named Pascot.

Thirty types of chocolate bars are divided in ones with dark cocoa in different percentages coming from Santo Domingo, Uganda, Equador, Sao Thome and Madagascar. Gradually, milk chocolates appear just before those ones melted with spices: cinnamon, chili pepper, Himalayan pink salt, ginger, aniseed and cardamom. Then, other varieties are mixed up with orange, mint, lemon, nuts, dried fruits and a sort with no sugar. The special tablets are called Sinfonia and are delivered with fruits and flowers.

Chocolate spreads are available in the tastes of almond, nut, bittersweet, pistachio, cappuccino, bombardino, tiramisu and grappa. The shopping continues with oranges zest, candied ginger, small waffles, gubana and strucchi.

The website homepage shows the last updates and news of the production, so you can be entince to click on the other pages and start to fill up your personal tasty cart.

The products are just available in Italy for shipping! So, you may pay Adelia a visit and select personally what you desire. Or ask someone you know in Italy to shop on your behalf. I assure everything is tremendously delicious!
