Adelaide's New Qantas Club Lounge

I paid my first visit to Adelaide's newly refurbished Qantas Lounge last week. Actually, the refurbishment is not quite complete as a separate Business Class Lounge, within the space, is being created in keeping with sister lounges interstate. I thought I would share my impressions of the lounge so far.
There are a number of different seating options to cater for different guest requirements. Some areas have benches or small desks alongside seats designed to accommodate laptop users. I didn't spot that many laptop users during my visit but the facilities are there for those more diligent than me.
There is a dedicated TV lounge area with a large television and limited seating. It's nicely fringed by plants.
The majority of guests, by far, were seated in the cafeteria area. This space is close to the self-serve buffet and also the self-serve coffee machine. There are a lot of chairs and tables in this area and I found it congested. Navigating the narrow pathway towards the buffet was a challenge mid-morning while I was there and I found myself ducking and weaving around other guests.
The buffet is always busy, I find, no matter which lounge I visit, so I'm guessing the congestion will continue to be an issue here.
I chose to take my coffee to a bank of seats, away from the cafeteria, looking towards the large windows that overlook the VIP parking area. You never know who you might spot arriving at the airport in a limousine.
These seats were not particularly comfortable, in fact, I didn't actually identify any comfortable-looking seats in this new lounge. The redeeming feature here, however, was the generous amount of power points and charging pads for phones. It seems we all need to charge our phones and other devices while waiting for planes.
The bar was not open, due to the early hour, but it appeared well-stocked with items that are popular after midday. I always know when it's midday in a lounge by the sound of corks popping.
There are two corridors leading to bathrooms at one end of the lounge. I counted at least six shower rooms with bathroom amenities including razors, toothbrushes and toothpaste. I was pleased to see good quality handwash and hand cream dispensers in the toilets.
My favourite features in this shiny new lounge were the self-serve coffee machine and, even more so, the water dispenser.
This dispenser not only provided hot and cold filtered water but sparkling water as well. All my needs were covered.
I was also pleased to see large jars containing my favourite Liquorice Allsorts and other snacks. I always grab a handful as I leave to head for the departure gates. Don't you?
