The best places to sneak a cheeky kiss in Adelaide
Did you know that we spend, in total, approximatively 336 hours of our lives kissing! A passionate kiss can quicken your pulse to 100 beats in a minute! One kiss burns up to 3 calories activating 112 postural muscles and 34 facial muscles: sexy workout! The minute you lock lips with your special someone, endorphins are released making you very happy and craving for more!

The term 'French Kiss' was created to salute French creativity when it comes to passionate and adventurous kisses, oulala.

Some say that a kiss is worth a thousand words. So knowing the best places to sneak a kiss in Adelaide may be exactly what you need. Whether you visit these spots to impress your date or to share a romantic kiss with your beautiful other half or simply because you want to create a special and unique moment, you will want to know where to go, what to do and more. So follow my romantic trail through the city, and as the song says, don't be surprised if you feel it in your fingers, you feel it in your toes, that love is all around the CBD and so the feeling grows.

First stop - North Terrace:
Adelaide Botanic Garden - Amazon Waterlily Pavilion

Amazon Waterlily Pavilion
The peaceful Amazon Waterlily glass pavilion at the Adelaide Botanic Garden

Stroll through the beautiful flowers and tree-lined paths of the Adelaide botanic garden to set the mood. Enjoy the sound of the birds and the fountains as you head to the gardens cafe to enjoy a cuppa together. As you talk, smile and walk beside each other, explore the sculptures and romantic floral displays. As you enter the Amazon Waterlily exquisite glass palace, you will be amazed how warm, peaceful, quiet and intimate this sanctuary is! You will feel like the time has stopped just for you in this tropical paradise surrounded by bromeliads, orchids, blue lilies of the Nile and begonias. While gazing at the waterlily giant leaves and its beautiful flowers, enjoy the sounds of silence and grab the hand of your significant other, that's your moment!

Amazon Waterlily Pavilion
The best time to contemplate the Victoria amazonica waterlily's spectacular flower is between September and April. It currently has its largest recorded leaf here with 2 meters diameter.

Second stop - East Terrace:
Musee Exterieur - European Art trail on the East End

Can you believe it: an outdoor museum where ordinary walls have been transformed into a canvas! The Musee Exterieur is a partnership between the City of Adelaide and the city of Cherbourg in France. The curated, outdoor art trail winds through the beautiful Adelaide East side featuring ten life-size reproductions of European Master paintings. That is definitely the promise of a cultural and poetic stroll in the city! You can explore art as you've never done before, holding hands, commenting on your favourite pieces painted on Adelaide's walls. There is nothing more attractive than sharing passions and connecting on a deeper level, don't you think! How unique and romantic to get lost into each other's eyes surrounded by a spectacular outdoor art gallery. Furthermore, Power is the underlying theme behind the East End Musee Exterieur art trail and that is exactly on point as the power of love and attraction is all you need to make this kiss happen!

Macaron
The free outdoor art trail runs through Adelaide East side visiting a few French cafes along Hutt Street such as Carpe Diem or By Blackbird for some romantic treats.

Third stop - South Terrace:
Veale garden - Picnic at the Rose Garden

Roses speak of love in a language only known to the heart. Did you know that the beautiful Veale garden has more than 50 varieties of roses on display including the City of Adelaide rose: a beauty bred in France in the 90s and named after the city of Adelaide to acknowledge its reputation as one of the best places in the world to grow roses. So no wonder the South Terrace entrance is the perfect spot for a bit of romance. And if you want to add some extra - je ne sais quoi - to the mix, make it an adventure by renting bikes with those cute little baskets to carry a picnic, riding through Adelaide parklands to get to your romantic destination. So you can enjoy this beautiful moment with your sweetheart make sure to pack a wood board, beautiful cheese, charcuterie, baguette, some heart-shaped treats, flutes and champagne! Set your picnic blanket by the water features, relax, enjoy each other's company, gazing at the City of Adelaide roses, love is in the air.

Picnic at Veale garden Adelaide
The secret lies in the art of planning a colourful, beautiful picnic in an enchanted garden that is as idyllic as a scene from the romantic literature!

Fourth stop - West Terrace:
West Terrace Cemetery - Self Guided Trail

West terrace cemetary
West Terrace cemetery is a tranquil haven for lover birds to escape the bustle of the city.

A cemetery? Romantic? You must think I'm out of my mind! I admit that cemeteries may sound like an unusual place to sneak a kiss. Well, first West Terrace Cemetery is not just any cemetery, it is located in the CBD but it is extremely calm, scenic and absolutely poetic. There are beautiful statues, majestic trees, cute little gardens, magnificently sculpted headstones and a multitude of colourful birds, flowers and plants. The place is incredibly peaceful and reminds me to some extent of the iconic Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. While on your date, make an activity by picking up free maps of self-guided walking tours at the entrance to explore the cemetery and track down the famous residents of West Terrace Cemetery and discover their unique stories. How unusual but refreshing to roam the graves holding hands, enjoying this magic feeling while learning about Adelaide history. I have always been told that Adelaide offers the most beautiful sunsets which makes West Terrace the perfect location to enjoy them - besides there are night tours organised at the cemetery with special effects, candles, storytelling creating a fantastic atmosphere and a bit of a thrill - definitely a good excuse to get closer and who knows you may get a kiss out of it!

Cute bike with basket
From North, to East, to South, to West, love is all around Adelaide cbd, follow my romantic trail through the parklands to sneak a cheeky kiss or two… or even plenty if you are lucky!
