Amongst non-vegans and vegetarians, vegan is sometimes considered a dirty word. With views on food ethics aside, vegan and vegetarian restaurants shouldn't be places anyone should shy away from. We're looking for Adelaide best vegan food, whether it's a vego restaurant that has a great vegan menu, or a place that's strictly vegan fare. Let us know which one is Adelaide's best.
Vegan BLT at Bliss Organic Garden Cafe
Bliss Organic Garden Cafe is a great all round Vegan stop. They're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and on top of that they also hold some vegan cooking classes. From their early morning pancakes, to their cakes and brownies, to their delicious curries at night: everything is organic and vegan. They have a gorgeous little outdoor courtyard, and even the staunchest steak lover could enjoy themselves here.
Vego & Love'n It somehow manages to be both Adelaide's best known vegetarian restaurant, and it's best kept secret. Many have been told about this brilliant vegetarian eatery, but not everyone has made it to the hidden yellow door. It's upstairs on Rundle Street, they're often packed and unless you're prepared for a bit of a wait it can be hard to find a table. Their huge burgers are one of the most popular items on the menu, but there are a range of other options as well. Not everything is vegan, but there are some great choices.
Another place that does vegan food justice is Eggless Dessert Cafe. Once again, it's not strictly vegan, but most of the desserts on the menu have a vegan option. Their menu changes monthly, so there are always new desserts on offer. If you're a vegan Eggless is a good place to start convincing your friends that vegan food doesn't have to be bland.

a great new vegan cafe has opened up at Port Adelaide - The Red Lime Shack. Delicious vegan fresh food, divine vegan hot chocolates, raw deserts, great coffee and fabulous atmosphere. My friend and I enjoyed a delicious cauliflower soup with truffle oil and their own rye bread for $8 - it was absolutely delicious, we couldnt believe how wonderful it was. My friend goes there every week now and is always reporting back to me the most delectable sounding dishes....and they do the best raw chocolate tart ever! Great food, atmosphere, drinks - its a vego paradise :)
